Castello di Arechi
The castle on the hill above the town, strengthened by the Lombard prince Arechis II, with the whole gulf at its feet.

High on the hill behind the town stands the castle that Arechis II, the Lombard prince of Benevento, strengthened in the 8th century when he made Salerno his capital. Normans, Swabians and Aragonese all built on it after him.
Its walls and towers now hold a small museum, and from the top you see the whole Gulf of Salerno, from the Amalfi Coast to Paestum. It lies above the piece of the town in the game. Ride through Salerno in 3D ›
