Privacy
Instant Cities doesn't ask who you are and doesn't follow what you do. Here is the little that does happen when you play.
In short
There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no cookies, no analytics and no ads. Nothing you do in the game is sent anywhere: where you ride, which races you run and how fast you go stay on your own device.
What your browser keeps
To make the game nicer to come back to, your browser keeps a few things on your device. They never leave it, and clearing the site's data in your browser removes them all.
- Your settings and progress, such as the music, the speed of the tour and the quests you have won.
- The spot in a city where you last stopped, so the game can start you there again.
- For as long as the tab is open, the site page you came from, so the game's menu can take you back to it.
- A copy of each city you have played, so it opens faster next time and even starts without a network.
Who else sees your visit
Like any website, a few services see your IP address and what your browser asks them for, because they deliver the files:
- GitHub Pages serves the site itself. See GitHub's privacy statement.
- Google Fonts delivers the lettering. See Google Fonts and privacy.
- jsDelivr delivers three.js, the library that draws the game. See jsDelivr's privacy policy.
Links to other sites, such as OpenStreetMap, Mapillary or Wikimedia Commons, only take you there when you click them. Those sites have their own privacy rules.
