The Water-Lily Pond
The Japanese bridge over the lily pond in Monet's garden at Giverny.
Monet dug the pond himself in 1893, turning a little river through his garden at Giverny, and put a wooden footbridge in the Japanese style over it.
In 1899 he painted the bridge a dozen times, from almost the same spot. For the rest of his life the lilies on that water were nearly all he painted. Stand before it in 3D ›
