Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar designed the arcade, and King Leopold I opened it in 1847: more than 200 metres of shops, cafés, a theatre and a cinema under a long arched roof of glass and iron.

Chocolatiers, booksellers and glove makers still keep shop in its three galleries, the King’s, the Queen’s and the Princes’. Visit it in 3D ›
