Cathedral
Catedral de Barcelona
The Gothic cathedral of Santa Eulàlia, with thirteen white geese in its cloister.
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia was built from the end of the 13th century to the 15th; its neo-Gothic front only followed in the late 19th century. Saint Eulalia, a girl martyred in Roman times, lies in its crypt.
In the cloister, among palms and a fountain, live thirteen white geese, one for each year of her life.
