Barri Gòtic
The maze of narrow medieval lanes at the heart of the old town, on top of Roman Barcino.
The Barri Gòtic is the oldest part of Barcelona: narrow lanes, small squares and stone palaces, with bits of the Roman wall still showing between the houses.
Some of its “Gothic” look dates from the early 20th century, when the city restored and even added to it, like the lacy bridge over the Carrer del Bisbe from 1928.
