Mercado de San Miguel
An iron-and-glass market hall of 1916, now a gourmet food hall next to the Plaza Mayor.
The market hall of iron and glass opened in 1916 beside the Plaza Mayor. Restored in 2009, it is now a hall of tapas counters: oysters, ham, olives, croquetas and vermouth.
It is busiest in the evening, before dinner, which in Madrid comes late.
