Mercerie
The chain of narrow shopping lanes from St Mark’s to the Rialto, the race route in the game.
The Mercerie are a string of narrow streets that link the two centres of old Venice, the political one at St Mark’s and the trading one at the Rialto. They pass under the clock tower and wind past shops that have lined them since the Middle Ages.
They are the busiest calli in the city, and in the game the race runs along them, over the little bridges, from the piazza to the Rialto. Visit it in 3D ›
