Powder Tower
Prašná brána
A Gothic gate tower of 1475 at the start of the Royal Route, once used to store gunpowder.
The Powder Tower was begun in 1475 as one of the gates of the Old Town, on the road kings took to their coronation at the castle. In the 17th century it held gunpowder, which gave it its name.
Next to it stands the Municipal House, Prague’s great Art Nouveau building.
