Graben

Vienna’s grand shopping street on the line of the Roman ditch, with the Plague Column in the middle.

The Graben, the ditch, runs along the moat of the Roman camp of Vindobona, filled in during the Middle Ages. Today it is a broad, elegant pedestrian street of shops and cafés.
