Canal boats
Rondvaartboot
The long glass-roofed boats that take visitors round the canals and under the low bridges.
The rondvaartboten are long and low, built to fit under Amsterdam’s 1,500 bridges. From the water you see the canal houses as they were meant to be seen, from the boats that once brought the goods.
There are also little open boats, and on a summer evening half the city seems to be out on the water.
