Spanish Riding School
Spanische Hofreitschule
The white Lipizzaner stallions dance in a Baroque riding hall inside the Hofburg.
The Spanish Riding School goes back to 1565 and is named after the Spanish horses from which the Lipizzaners were bred. Its white stallions perform the haute école in the Winter Riding School, a Baroque hall of 1735 with chandeliers.
The horses are born dark and turn white over their first years.
